Amanda Hays

Amanda Muhlena Hays graduated from Judson in 2015 with a degree in Art, and is currently an MFA candidate in Studio Art at American University in Washington, D.C. One of the most important lessons she learned at Judson is that perseverance and hard work usually precede inspiration. It is rarely the other way around. She faces this “creative fear” by regularly showing up for her studio practice, because it is there – in the creative trenches – where inspiration is cultivated. Amanda is grateful to be in the nation’s capital as she works out her role and responsibility as an artist in the tumultuous societal and political climate we find ourselves in today.
