Chicago native Lauren Meranda teaches Graphic Design. She earned a BFA in Graphic Design from the Northern Illinois University, and her MFA from the University of Illinois at Chicago. As a student she attended summer design workshops at the Hochschule fur Gestaltung und Kunst (The Basel School of Design) in Basel, Switzerland. She is also a practicing web, print, and exhibition designer, who has done extensive work for the Jane Adams Hull-House in Chicago. As a designer she seeks to empower individuals to participate in the storytelling process and to expand public memory to include previously unheard voices by linking research, education, and social engagement into an interactive design experience. Professor Meranda also REALLY loves the Chicago Bulls.
