Judson Student AIGA Group volunteers at Head, Heart, and Hand ConferencePosted 10.19.2013 by Jeff Carl
Six Judson AIGA student group members spent the past week volunteering at the Head, Heart, and Hand:AIGA Design Conference in Minneapolis, MN. The four day conference brought together nearly 2,000 designers from around the globe to celebrate the best in design and to explore design thinking and strategy, design for social impact, and design as craft. As volunteers the students were able to attend the conference for free, which included access to all of the sessions and events. The students also got to meet and discuss design with some VIP’s during the week (see photo of JU AIGA student with designer Michael Bierut). Department chair and Professor Joseph Cory commented, “I am excited that the department can support our students attendance of this event. Conferences like this expose them to professional designers and advanced design thinking, and further ignites their passion for design. I am proud of our student led AIGA group, and for the ways in which they initiate opportunities for student learning beyond the classroom.” For more information on AIGA visit their website: www.aiga.org.
